Hi. My name is Brian Miller and I’m a Philly-based producer and songwriter.

about me

I’m a singer, guitarist, piano player, synth player, string arranger, bassist, & drummer.

For a while I was the touring and recording guitarist for alt-country singer Jolie Holland, who at the time was signed to Anti- Records — the same label as Tom Waits and Waxahatchee! It was very exciting! When I lived in the Bay Area I was one-half of the indie folk duo “The Speakers,” and after I moved to Philly I was one-half of the indie hip hop duo “The Moon and the Tiger.” For recordings I do on my own with special guests, I go by the name “The Lightning Bug Situation.”

And I know from my own experiences working with producers and artists that so much of being a musician is about understanding our own psychology and being compassionate and curious.

How can we be open to whatever ideas are trying to be born through us?

How can we have fun even when we press record?

How can we share what is clear and bright and true?
